Abbey: Ask me anything

Happy Friday! Abbey here. Mama finally let me have a post. It’s so nice to talk with you directly. I’d like to thank you for visiting this blog. We are enjoying making new friends!

Since everything you know about me so far comes from Mama, I thought I’d use this post to answer any questions you have for me.

You can ask me anything. I will answer in the comments below, so be sure to check back for the answers!

  1. I'd be interested in how often you and the others eat...do you have set meal times? :-)

    1. Hello, Miss Lynn! Well, we have dry food out all the time. It's a grain free food for sensitive stomachs. I have a sensitive stomach and need it, and Natasha and Connor like it too. It's my responsibility to notify Mama or Papa if the food levels get too low in the blow. :-) We get wet food three times a day. At about 6:30 in the morning (earlier if we can get Mama up) and at about 5 in the afternoon, we have canned grain-free food. Then at around 10 at night, we get what Mama calls our late night snack. It's a Fancy Feast appetizer.

    1. Heehee, I think I was made this way! But I groom myself regularly and get plenty of beauty sleep.

  4. What are some of your quirky habits? Because a cat is not a cat without some of that :)

    1. Hmmmm, well one habit I have is to cover my food bowl after I eat. We're inside and my paw isn't really scraping anything up, but I still cover it. Sometimes I don't want to stop and cover and cover. Sometimes I knock dry food out of the bowl doing that. Then Mama says, it's OK, Abbey. You've done a good job.

    2. OHMYGOSH...my black cat does the same thing! She tries to cover her bowl, too. That is funny. We joke that she's sweeping up the mess around her bowl :)

  5. On a separate note for your mama, Tina. Here is something I wrote on another friend's blog:
I know you have trouble commenting on my blog because the commenting box doesn't appear. I know what you see because I experience the same problem on some blogs I visit. I'm not sure what causes it or how to fix it. Yet. But in the meantime, you can click 'reply' on someone else's comment and add yours (like you've done). I'm sure no one will be offended by that :) Or click your back button on your browser (top left corner) and the comment box usually appears. Also, when you do click on 'reply' to someone else's comment, a link 'Add a comment' appears below the comment box. Click on it and a new, separate comment box will appear for you! These are simple solutions until I figure out what I can do. And if I can do anything about it.

  6. Have you seen the picture of the cat on fb that is in a huge box a few inches deep of catnip? I'm wondering if you think it is okay to go to that extreme or if cats need to have some moderation in their nip.

    1. Mama showed me the picture. I guess it depends on the definition of moderation. :MOL -D Overall, us kitties need to balance our catnip with nutritious food, play, sleep, and meditation.

  7. That window tree you are on- was it custom made? It is very nice. And might I add how beautiful you are.

    1. I think gray tabby cats are very handsome. And gray tabbies are special in my heart because my brofur Chase Bird was a gray tabby. He went to the Rainbow Brudge 4 months ago. I know he's watching over us. I like the name Cody, and Mama showed me a picture of your Cody. He sure is handsome! :-)

  9. Hi Abbey! It's nice to see you. You're very cute. Where's your favorite place to take a nap?

    1. I have two favorites. There's a big fluffy cat bed in the den, and my dad made a frame out of PVC pipe to go over so a blanket can be spread over it to make a cave for me. I sleep there a lot during the day. And I like to snooze on the window seat in the humans' bedroom.

  10. We'd luff to see your special cat bed in the den. Ps: we think you are lovely too - we're big fans of the orange in this house.

    1. Thank you! I am the first orange cat my humans have ever had. And now Connor makes two. I will tell Mama to post a picture of the bed next week.

  11. Hi Abbey! Which part of that cat tree do you prefer to scratch on more? The flat part of that cat tree, or the vertical poles?

    1. Hi! I like to scratch the vertical poles. My dad likes that. He was hoping it would remind me not to scratch on the sofa. But....I still sometimes scratch the sofa. MOL!

  12. Hi Abbey! We don't know you well yet, so here are a couple of questions for you.
    1. How old are you? How did you get to live with your human?
    2. What kind of noms do you like?

    1. Hi! My Mama first met me on Feb. 1, 2015. I was at the county shelter and was named Hunny Bee. Mama was just volunteering that day, cuddling and playing with the cats. But she thought I was sooooooo cute. Later she saw on Facebook that I'd been adopted. Then that I had been returned to the shelter and was available again. She said I was calling to her heart. So on April 20, 2015, she and my dad adopted me. :-) I was "about one" then, so we decided to make my birthday the same day as my Gotcha Day--April 20. In a couple of months I will be two years old! My favorite noms are dry. I eat Blue Buffalo for sensitive stomachs. I eat a little wet food. And you know what? I hardly ever eat treats. Mama has tried various kinds, but I'm just no into them.
