On Wednesday: Home with Cats #4

“I love cats because I enjoy my home; and little by little, they become its visible soul.”
--Jean Cocteau

Every Wednesday, we explore different ways home is changed, improved, and complicated when cats are part of that home.

***

Happy Wednesday! Natasha here.

Natasha

Mama has been working extra hours for the last couple of days, so she asked me to take care of today’s post. Being the helpful girl I am, I said yes. And I really enjoyed those extra treats. MOL!

Mama likes how we cats make our house feel like a home. Sometimes we run around a play and sound like a herd of elephants, according to her. But sometimes, it gets really quiet. If we’re all quiet, it’s probably because we’re asleep.

Every day when Mama gets home from work, she asks us how many naps we took that day. I hold the record for number of naps in one day: nine. Abbey says two of those naps didn’t count because they were too short. But I think she just wants to beat my record.

Mama says we’re “so sweet” when we nap and tends to take pictures. Sometimes the camera wakes us up, but that’s another story.

This past Sunday, she found Connor sleeping like this:

Looks strange to me, but he must have been comfortable.

This is one of the few times that Abbey has slept on Mama’s lap. It was right after Abbey was adopted. I figure she and Mama were doing the bonding thing.

And now me.

Natasha

Mama wasn’t sure if I was completely asleep here because you can see a little of my eyeball showing. That’s because it’s a kitten nap—shorter than a cat nap, and a lot shorter than a tiger nap.

So now tell me about your kitties. Do they like to nap? Where’s their favorite places to nap?

  1. SO cute! They do sound like a herd of elephants when they play, don't they? My husband and I joke about that. And I love the way Connor is sleeping. Adorable and funny.

  2. Those are great pics. Connor, you have such style. Mom says I don't nap, I just go into a sleep coma. Leia naps. Our favorite places change with our moods.

  8. How cute! Thanks for sharing how you spend your day.

Athena likes to sleep on the bed with me at night and sometimes we share an afternoon nap together. Other times she sleeps on her own chair, her 'throne' in the living room by the patio door.

  10. We haven't got a single place to nap - Hannah mostly retires to bed after lunch when she has licked every shred of chicken from her lips. Lucy will sleep a while in the conservatory or on the top place of our cat penthouse.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

  11. at night stomachs, backs, hips when we are on our sides, during our waking hours our knees, they rotate their time between us. That is the best sleeping position I have seen in a while, Connor made me laugh out loud. I've had to change my address Tina same name for blog but reached at mortensen-oudoire.blogspot.com now. :-)

  12. Miss Lizzie is at her most photogenic when she's asleep! She has several favorite spots, depending on the time of day (bright? The pillows on the guest room bed. Cold? By the radiator, of course!) But my favorite spot is right beside me!
