Friendly Fill-Ins Blog Hop: With the kitties

Happy Friday! We’re participating in the Friendly Fill-Ins Blog Hop, presented by 15 and Meowing and McGuffy’s Reader. This week Abbey, Natasha, and Connor are all helping me.

1. My favorite Christmas Song(s) is/are___________________, but I could do without hearing __________________ever again.

2. My most meaningful Christmas ornament/decoration is ____________________, because________________________.

3. My favorite holiday treat is _______________.

4. A holiday tradition in my house is ______________.

Our little Christmas tree before we put ornaments on it.
We left it undecorated for a couple of days
to see how the kitties would react.

1. My favorite Christmas Song(s) is/are The First Noel, O Holy Night, Silent Night, and O Come All Ye Faithful, but I could do without hearing Walking in a Winter Wonderland ever again. (Natasha: I like The First Noel, too, because my middle name is Noelle. I don’t like that song that tells us “You better watch out” because Santa is coming to town. That’s scary.)

2. My most meaningful Christmas ornament/decoration are the ornament frames with photos of our kitties who have gone to the Rainbow Bridge, because I love seeing pictures of them. (Connor: All the ones on our little tree because none of them broke when I knocked the tree over.) Mama speaking: Yes, Connor knocked over the tree and nothing broke. That cemented the decision that we’re not putting up a big tree this year.

3. My favorite holiday treat is anything with cranberries. (Abbey: Just my regular food, but the bowls need to be full at all times.)

4. A holiday tradition in my house is eating a big breakfast Christmas morning after opening our gifts. (Natasha, Abbey, and Connor: Looking in our stockings before Mama and Dad open their gifts.)

  1. On Christmas morning, I don't ever remember breakfast. Just gifts. They made you forget about food

  2. Great fill-ins! Our Mom agrees wholeheartedly with your pick for never hearing again!

  3. What great responses from all of you. :)

  4. The pictures of the kitties sounds like they would make great ornaments. Have a wonderful weekend and a Merry Christmas.

  5. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. That is a scary song about Santa coming to town. :) That is too bad the kitties knock the tree over-yikes. I am lucky that my 13 cats only mess with the ornaments on the bottom which are mainly for them anyway.Have a great weekend.

  6. "Oh Holy Night" is our favorite, too! And we have ornament frames, too, for all of our Angels. :)

  7. I think the angel kitty ornaments are a sweet idea. :) Our angel Xerxes never knocked down the tree, but he loved swatting at the ornaments. He especially liked the sparkly red and gold twirly ones. He would have liked the lizard that lived in the Christmas tree, too, but thankfully he never found that!
I think presents overrode breakfast at our house, too. I'm sure we ate breakfast eventually, but I sure don't remember it. Do you have the same breakfast every Christmas?

Have a blessed weekend and a very Merry Christmas!

  8. Yeah, that whole "You better watch out" thing is a bit threatening, don't you think?
    Loved reading your answers!
    Yours sincerely,
    Margaret Thatcher

  9. As a kid, we found Christmas tree ornaments in bags of Fritos snacks, which we assembled and hung on the tree. Those ornaments went on year after year after year! Finally, after all the kids had moved out and Mom & Dad moved into their condo, all old ornaments were given away, and the tree was decorated with all new and color-coordinated ones. Funny how the inexpensive stuff hung around for so long!

  10. do this so well! HUGS.

  11. I love your answers (both of you!) You know your "kids" very well indeed!
